Dr. Nishanga Bliss, DSc, LAc
Acupuncturist, Professor, Author, Activist
A former chef, Nishanga loves kitchen medicine and practicing the ancient healing art of fermentation. Her book, Real Food All Year dives deeply into the practice of eating with the seasons, weaving the ancient wisdom of Chinese medical nutrition together with nutrition science and real world culinary know-how. Nishanga teaches Chinese and integrative medicine at AIMC Berkeley.

Dr. Jenny Nieters, LAc
Team Acupuncturist, SF 49ers
Jenny specializes in sports medicine, orthopedic injuries and athletic performance. In addition to her private clinical practice, she is the team acupuncturist for the San Francisco 49ers and the Saint Mary’s College Men’s Rugby teams. She teaches sports acupuncture with Whitfield Reaves in his Sports Medicine Apprentice Program, an advanced training for acupuncturists.

Dr. Jennifer Ashby, LAc
Acupuncturist, UCSF
Dr. Jennifer Ashby has been practicing TCM since 1996 and has been at the Osher Center since 2014. Jennifer assists in supporting oncology patients and pediatrics patients at UCSF Mission Bay. She taught Women’s Health at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine for 10 years and has guest-lectured at Bay area medical schools. Jennifer is currently part of the ICM team doing research treating cancer-related pain.

Ryan Rigoli
Brand Consultant & Meditation Teacher
Ryan Rigoli supports practitioners in the healing professions to gain clarity on the uniqueness of their brand and stay true to who they are in their marketing. He has spoken at Sutter Health’s Institute for Health & Healing, Stanford Business School, & the Wisdom 2.0 Conference on the power of authenticity & presence. Ryan is also a Professed Monk, Spiritual Coach, Pianist, & was previously Sr. Director of Marketing at Yahoo!

Thursday, March 16

Dry Needling, Acupuncture and Athletic Performance
Taught by Jenny Nieters, L.Ac. DACM
March 16, 2023 | 9am–12pm
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish terms for dry needling.
- Communicate the value of the needle in the hands of the acupuncturist.
- Learn palpation techniques and signs of trigger points.
- Learn through demonstration of palpation and needling techniques.
- Learn through demonstration of the value of assessment before and after treatment.
This course is approved by the California Acupuncture Board, Provider Number 0025, for 2.5 hours of Category 1 continuing education.

Nutrition for the Anthropocene: Restoring Personal and Planetary Jing

- Describe the impact of the climate crisis on human health, biodiversity and the microbiome
- Identify key features of the human microbiome

- Advise clients on dietary changes to support homeostasis & regeneration of the spleen and stomach qi & yin

The Future of EAM in Institutional Settings – One Woman's Journey

- Learn how to become an integrative EAM practitioner.
- Learn to perform, implement, and treat EAM in clinical and hospital settings.
- Understand translations of Western diagnosis to EAM.

What is your refund policy?
Refund Policy for Attendees
- Full refund (minus a 3% credit card processing fee) up until 4 weeks prior to the event.
- 50% refund up until the last business day of the week prior to the event (Friday before).
- No refunds after the last business day of the week prior to the event (Friday before).
Please contact admin@csomaonline.org to request a refund.
No refunds will be issued for no-shows or late arrival.
100% of registration fees will be credited or refunded if event is canceled by organizer.
Cancellation Policy for Exhibitors
Cancellation of any payment for booth space or sponsorship must be submitted in writing to events@csomaonline.org
- If you cancel by February 1, 2023, your full payment, minus a $100.00 fee, will be refunded.
- If you cancel by March 1, 2022, your full payment, minus a $300.00 fee, will be refunded.
- No refunds due to cancellation will be made after March 1, 2023.
All refunds will be processed within one month following the conference, and payments will either be credited back to your credit card account or mailed by check, based on initial payment. There will be no refunds or credits on no shows.
