Course Title: Neuropuncture
Course Details: Thursday morning and afternoon, 5.5 CEUs (Type 1)
Neuropuncture applies neuroscience to the TCM model to create evidence-based clinically proven protocols.Treat pain conditions utilizing the neuropuncture system; Learn the neurobiology of pain and how it relates to the neurophysiology of acupuncture and how to use the outcomes that are clinically reproducible

Course Title: Classical 5-Element Acupuncture and the Pain Epidemic
Course Details: Thursday morning, 3.0 CEUs (Type 1)
The course will cover basics of Classical 5-Element Acupuncture diagnosis and the concept of Causative Factor, as well as how to address the physical, mental and spiritual levels of disease. It will also teach how to detect and resolve several serious energetic blocks including Possession, Aggressive Energy, Husband/Wife Imbalance, and Exit-Entry Blocks.

Course Title: Acupuncture and the Opioid Crisis – A Professional Liability Perspective
Course Details: Friday morning, 1.5 CEU (Type 2)
The class will include a brief history and discussion of regulatory changes in western medicine. It will cover how changes will affect acupuncture’s role in treating chronic pain. We will discuss unique patient issues, liability issues, documentation and best practices for pain management.

Course Title: What You Need to Succeed: Essential Skills in Pain Management with AOM
Course Details: Thursday afternoon, 2.5 CEU (Type 1)
This course covers: working in an integrative pain management practice, including office management, pain-specific history taking and medical documentation; physical exam skills, including range of motion, strength testing, sensory function; AOM treatments, including cupping, gua sha, trigger point needling.

Course Title: Pain Management in Japanese Meridian Therapy
Course Details: Friday afternoon, 1.5 CEU (Type 1)
This course will cover clinical applications of Japanese meridian therapy for pain management and addiction treatment. Pain management will be explored through the lens of Japanese Meridian Therapy. In response to the opioid crisis in the country, practitioners need to be fluent in pain management and the mechanisms behind addiction. Treating both are required to be effective in clinical practice.

Course Title: Traditional Chinese Formulas for Substance Abuse Withdrawal, Harm Reduction, and Pain Relief
Course Details: Friday afternoon, 2.0 CEU (Type 1)
The class will cover common presentations of substance use/abuse and withdrawal, using Western and Chinese medicine differential diagnoses. Topics will include: common TCM formulas and their applications for withdrawal, harm reduction and pain presentations; risk management, collaborating with other health care providers, and some Western herbs.
Cancellation Policy
CSOMA Cancellation Policy requires notification two weeks prior to the event or a $40 processing fee will be charged. After May 11, 2018, no cancellations will be processed, and no refunds will be issued. CSOMA is Continuing Education Provider (CEP) #25 with the California Acupuncture Board
